Waco Knitters & Crocheters (& Friends) participated in our 1st quarter 2017 ministry to benefit local homeless. January thru March we hand knit and crocheted EIGHTY-THREE (83) scarves, TEN (10) hats and 3 Prayer clothes as well as purchased 20 ponchos and 10 umbrellas bringing our 1st quarter donation to 126 items! Thank you!!! The local Jason's Deli donated a gift card to the person that made the most scarves and it went to (drum roll here) - - - > DENISE for making 34 awesome scarves!!!!!!!! Thanks again to all who participated in our (optional) 1st quarter ministry and Sue S for spear heading the campaign. Next quarter: local cancer patients! Welcome newcomer Dotty P! Eighteen of us swapped "recycle, reuse, repurpose" SECRET LEPRECHAUN gifts. Everyone's creativity was inspiring! Next meetup is Tuesday April 11th at South Waco Library 5 to 8pm, or any part thereof. Please join us! Join us on March 23rd in the Meeting Room (front left) at the West Waco Library (5301 Bosque Blvd #275) from 5 - 8pm for our biweekly knitting and crochet meetup.
We will be having our Leprechaun Swap that day. The theme is reuse, recycle, repurpose. This will also be our last day to collect items for our first quarter (optional) charity, Church Under the Bridge. Bring scarves, umbrellas, ponchos and hats to be distributed to local homeless. POC Sue S. A dozen knitters and crocheters got together on Tuesday for fellowship, crafting, and coloring.
Laura brought some Secret Leprechaun gift ideas. If you are participating, remember that the exchange will take place on the 23rd. Congratulations to Waco Crocheter Glenda on her new grandson! |
