Welcome newcomer Karen. Welcome back Dlaine from your internship in NYC.
Connie collected several more items for our local veterans. Laura collected quite a few baby hats that were donated. Thank you. Knit 1 Blesses 2.
Amy brought 30 skeins of Special Olympic yarn to share.
Ravelry ravellenics projects were updated which end Sunday Aug 21st.
Plarn status: Rayna finished her mat (yay!), Eileen is making more plarn, Laura has two more balls of plarn and and about 3 foot crocheted on our 2nd mat thanks to Laura, Rayna and Eileen's group effort. Connie's church youth group will take any leftover plarn but we'd like to complete 2 mats fully.
And we decided to do an Escape Room (or two) for the Waco Knitters 8th Anniversary in October. Then Dinner. And prizes galore!
Next meetup is Thursday at West Waco Library 5 to 8pm. All welcome. Free. We will have a slide-show presentation of all the Team Waco Knitters 2016 Ravellenics projects completed during the Rio Olympics. Join us, you'll be inspired!

Doesn't everyone just need a day away to recharge?! And to knit?!
Yes siree and Waco Knitters & Crocheters accomplished that Saturday by heading to the River House of Waco Knitter Carolyn, enjoying the in-ground pool, knitting, sharing a scrumptious potluck luncheon, crocheting, strolling by the Brazos River, plarning, making homemade chocolate ice cream and enjoying each others company immensely! Many thanks to our host Carolyn and everyone for sharing the fantastic fellowship. Looking forward to our next Knit Day Away!
