At our July 8th we held an (optional) Mug Rug Swap which was enjoyed by all. We have some seriously talented Mug Rug Creators! Recap : Welcome newcomers Pam Mckown and Hallie Cook! So glad you could join us. And here's what we (23 in attendance) are up to: Celine is back from France and completed a baby headband with flower for donation. Gayle is attempting again to work with some crazy yarn after frogging yet again. It might end up in the Mug Rug Exchange! ;-) Susan K is crocheting lovely baby hats. And had 9 terrific baby hats to donate! Hannelore is knitting a baby hat on dpns. Vi started a baby hat and finished it by the end of Knitting Circle! And had 7 other fantastic baby hats to donate. Rebecca is knitting darling Cupcake Hats. And had another super self-striping baby hat to donate! Joyce H is crocheting baby hats. Judy W is crocheting a baby hat. Good to see you again, it's been a while! Barbara H is knitting socks on dpns. Jessica G is crocheting a beard to go with her Gimlet Armor Hat. Lori finished her gorgeous grey shawl. And had a cradle blanket to donate! Ruth is knitting a pink cradle blanket. A lady rushed in with two bags of yarn that were divided up to good homes. Newcomer Pam M is knitting a Yoda Hat for her grand niece. Newcomer Hallie is knitting a Homespun baby blanket for a friend. Donna finished an adult cap using Marjie Yarn for the 4-22-2015 Marjie Memorial. And had another adult hat to donate to Friends for Life (FFL)! Peggy is knitting a cute scarf that buttons using a pom. Cynthia R is crocheting a shawl in varying maroon colors. And had about 25 hats for donation (including 7 for Marjie Memorial using Marjie Yarn)! Sue S is knitting another awesome baby blanket. And had 4 baby blankets for donation! Kimberly is knitting her variegated scarf. Karen is knitting a NICU square - also now known as a "smello". Pat Q is crocheting a Christmas laghan and had a cross-stitched Christmas towel for FFL donation started by Liz. And Pat Q crocheted two cotton hotpads for the Marjie Memorial! Laura is knitting a blanket that Marjie started for the Marjie Memorial [with help from Karen figuring out the pattern]. Susan A donated 8 hats (including 1 for Marjie Memorial) via Pat Q since she was unable to attend. Generous Waco Knitters, we collected 63 handcrafted items:
Next Knitting Circle will be Tuesday July 8th @ South Waco library, 2737 South 18th Street, in the Meeting Room (front left) from 5pm - 7pm with optional Mug Rug Swap. All welcome. (Optional) baby hat collection for donation to local newborns. 2 weeks till Mug Rug Swap (optional) - do you have your pattern? Welcome newcomers Julia and Barbara P! They even got some Marjie Yarn as a 'welcome' gift. J. Barbara and Julia have both made these great felted totes and had one to show. Very nice. Hannelore is working on crib mattress sewing. Donna is working a beautiful new knit stitch and making a yellow cradle blanket. Jessica is crocheting a unicorn to lure something something something... Vi brought magazines for the veterans, cones of yarn to give away, and hand crafted baby booties and hats for Providence newborns. Such generosity! Joyce H was busy creating already with two colors of Vi's cone yarn. Barabara H came from a busy day at work and enjoyed the laughs while knitting. Kimberly is knitting a lovely variegated scarf. Cynthia M is working on a crocheted baby blue sweater. Wendy joined us from Irving and is knitting a pretty afghan. Sharon is crocheting a blue and white granny square baby blanket. Rebecca got some help with a knitting a pattern. Cynthia R brought many wonderful adult and baby hats for donation. Karen S is knitting a TARDI (did I get it right??) scarf and cradle blanket using Marjie Yarn. Laura is crocheting a Super Chunky cradle blanket with Marjie Yarn. Barbara L flew in at the last and shared her two bags of Friends for Life yarn for Waco Knitters to help her make hats for Friends for Life clients. POC Barbara L We collected 30 baby hats, booties, cradle blankets from kind, generous Cynthia R, Vi, Laura, Hannelore and Joyce H. Thank you! Thanks to all who attended.
