We had a great time at the Mayborn Museum's Christmas in the Village event this afternoon! Honey, Cathy, Cynthia, Karen, Sara, and Barbara dressed up in period costume and knit and crocheted in the Governor Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village. There were other groups and activities there as well, including woodcarving, coil baskets, hot apple cider, and kettle corn. The kids and their parents were really excited to learn about historic hobbies and what life was like in the 1890s. Waco Knitters had a variety of crocheted, knitted, and tatted items from hats to doilies to a tablecloth. We also displayed antique pattern books. The staff at the Mayborn was very welcoming and did a great job setting up a fun day for all! |
