This collection brings our Year-to-Date total to ...... 999!!! We made it to our goal. 999 local newborns will (literally) feel your warmheartedness. Well done. Together we make a difference.
Baby hats are such a good stash buster and quick project, we decided to make Baby Hats our year-long 2016 project. If interested in joining us for this optional ministry, knit or crochet a baby hat, any pattern, any color and bring to a Meetup for collection. We will deliver quarterly. POC Laura.
There were SO many deserving charities brought forward for consideration we additionally are going to try a different local recipient every quarter of 2016! If interested in this optional ministry, please knit or crochet an appropriate item for
1st quarter: Friends for Life's older adults birthdays
2nd quarter: Family Abuse Center requests up to 19 prayer shawls and/or hat & scarf sets for winter clients
3rd quarter: Veterans up to 25 hat & scarf sets
4th quarter: Special Olympic scarves (color TBD). POC Amy.
For the 2016 meetups, we decided to have the 2nd Tuesday at South Waco Library and 4th Thursday at West Waco Library meetups from 5pm to 8PM (one hour longer). Come and go as schedule permits. Let's try this and see how it work in 2016!
Additionally, we want to try a 3rd Thursday "KNIT AT NITE" group from 6:30 to 8:30pm at West Waco Library in the Conference Room (far back left-hand room) trying to help those that work late get their knit on. This will start Feb 18th, 2016 and we will see how it works out! Thanks for your input!
