We collected lots of new hats. That puts us to a total of 104 for the month of January. At this rate, we can easily meet and go past our goal of 800 hats in 2014. Keep'em coming! A small group made it out to Cotton Patch last night for our second Sip, Sup, and Knit, and had a blast! They got in lots of chatting and meeting new people, and even managed to get free Dr Pepper chocolate cake!
The next SSK will be March 6th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Johnny Carino's Italian Restaurant. If you have a craving for Dr Pepper chocolate cake now, here's a recipe from The Sister's Cafe for not only Dr Pepper chocolate cake but also the Dr Pepper chocolate frosting t From our latest newsletter: Waco Knitter Kimberly has planned an additional SSK (sip sup knit) at Cotton Patch (in the parking lot of the library) this Thursday Jan 30th 5 - 8 pm to make up for the regular Knitting Circle being iced out. Thanks Kimberly! Come for all or part: order dinner, or just knit/crochet, or chat, or all the above. We'll be the ones with the yarn. 62 degrees is the forecasted high on Thursday! Next regular Knitting Circle will be Feb 13th, 5 - 7pm at West Waco Library. We will also have an amigurumi demo (crocheted animals) sometime in Feb. Mark your calendars and see you then! Knitting Circle is canceled for tonight, January 23rd, due to the yucky icy weather. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Our first Sip, Sup, and Knit at Mama Fu's was a success! We had more than 10 people coming and going throughout the evening. The meals were delicious, and we even got a little knitting done in between eating and chatting. FYI - we also discovered appetizers are half price before 6 pm (the crab rangoons received rave reviews) and on January 27-29, entrees are half price with the purchase of a beverage. |
