The 2017 Special Olympic Scarf Project coordinator (and Waco Knitter) Amy told us about the 2017 special olympics to be held in Austin in February. Through the Scarf Project, the goal is for every athlete to have a scarf. The goal is 2000 and the current count is at 900. Well, 870 after the THIRTY scarves we donated today!! Thanks all.
Waco Knitter & Crocheter Kaitlan showed us the Never Ending Granny Square that you will not have to weave in ends as you change colors. So pretty too. Here is the pattern tutorial.
We also have a 2016 HOT Fair & Rodeo Waco Knitter & Crocheter SWEETHEART (complete with sash). Stop by and see the reigning Sweetheart at the Fair this Saturday October 15th from noon to 4pm in the Creative Arts Building. We'll be the ones with the yarn.
Terry won the 3 skeins of yarn door prize suitable for Special Olympic Scarves donated by Laura. Dottie bought 2 skeins of Downtown Abbey "Matthew" yarn on her summer excursion to Michigan and donated them as a door prize that Hannelore won.
Best wishes for a lovely day of yarn. See you at the Fair Saturday and Thursday Oct 20th for our 8th Anniversary Meetup.
